US stocks closed higher on Tuesday, amid limited trading.
To accompany its indicators upward, gains were recorded in the oil and natural gas, basic materials and technology sectors.
At the end of trading on Wall Street, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose by 1.18%, reaching its highest record level in 3 months, while the Standard & Poor’s 500 index strengthened its position at 1.36%, and the Nasdaq index increased by 1.36%.
Gold futures fell by 0.3%, to trade in December at $1,734.7 during the Asian session on Wednesday.
Oil futures also declined, according to the Comex classification. Oil futures contracts were traded at $80.94 per barrel, they decreased by 0.01%.
In the same context, sources quoted data from the American Covenant stating that crude oil and gasoline stocks in America declined in the last week, and other sources said that crude stocks declined by about 4.8 million barrels during the past week.
Loretta Mester, a member of the US Federal Reserve, made comments on Tuesday, saying that inflation is expected to continue for a long time.
